Natural One
I’m the one, natural one, make it easy
we can take it inside
where I can love how I like, if my woman
whatever keeps me high
yeah, we can take it
good and loose on an endless spree
good because we made it
and when Mama’s not around
there’s no telling what we’ll do when we’re free
I’m the one, natural one, make it easy
we can take it inside
I can have it ‘cause I act like I love it
it’s a matter of pride
yeah, we can take it
a good excuse for an endless spree
good because we made it
your woman’s falling down,
you may as well crash with me
when I’m numb, natural one
it’s the one, natural one
there’s no telling what we’ll do when we’re free
when I’m numb, natural one
there’s no telling what we’ll do when we’re free
it’s the one, natural one
that you may as well crash with me
when I’m numb, natural one
there’s no telling what we’ll do when we’re free
it’s the one, natural one
there’s no telling what we’ll do when we’re free
when I’m numb, natural one
there’s no telling what we’ll do when we’re free
it’s the one, natural one
that you may as well crash with me
It's Lou Barlow and Folk Implosion's "Natural One."
Click on the title "Natural One" above to see the YouTube video. I heard this on FNX in August and when the DJ said it was from the KIDS soundtrack (1995), but recently had gotten a resurgence from use on Mad Men, and well, let's just say I was hooked. This song is perfect for that show, but alas, after watching all episodes of Season 1 and 2 so far, it hasn't been used!! (I found out AMC used it for promos for their original series). I looked to download the song from iTunes, but it wasn't there, so I ended up ordering a used copy of the CD soundtrack from Amazon. The video is very Devo-ish, slightly obscene in a National Geographic kind of way, and a low-budge Peter Gabriel artsy thing. But the song rocks -- I could listen to it fifteen times in a row, and then do it all over again the next day and not get sick of it.
